Music is a big part of my life. The most rewarding part of teaching Kindermusik is being able to provide music to children each week and watching them grow. I teach with a lot of passion & energy. I truly have the best job in the world.
Marcy Mitchell
Marcy started playing flute at age 11 and picked up saxophone at age 14. She had several years of private lessons on both instruments. She participated in concert band, jazz band, symphony band, marching band, and pit orchestra throughout high school. More recently, she played flute in the Lapeer Symphony Orchestra. After high school, she married and had three wonderful children. Although suddenly very busy, never lost her love for music and passed it down to all of her children. She has been married for 20 years. It has been a dream of hers for years to become a Kindermusik Instructor. Marcy has been a fully accredited instructor since May of 2021.
Aubrey Slack
Aubrey started her musical career through the Kindermusik program as a child. She continued to play the piano, clarinet, and saxophone as well as participating in choir in school. After high school, Aubrey went to the University of Colorado for Exercise Science and completed her minor in American Sign Language. She worked with deaf, disabled, and elder clients in different capacities before becoming a stay-at-home-mom to her wonderful baby boy. Her son is now enjoying the benefits and connections that Kindermusik offers its students, and Aubrey is excited to have the opportunity to share her passion and knowledge for music with her students.
It's amazing how life comes full circle—Kindermusik meant so much to my family growing up, and now I am able to share it with my son and help bring the music to the community!
